Experience the thrill of adventure and inspirational culture of Chiang Mai with a multi day experience in the Mae On and Mae Taeng Valleys.  


Your trip begins in the gorgeous Mae On Valley near Chiang Mai Thailand as you explore the vertical adventure world of the stunning Crazy Horse Buttress.  By day rock climb, abseil and explore the underground realm of Crazy Horse. Relax and boil eggs at a local hot springs and sample local artisan chocolate. In the evening take in the beautiful Northern Thai Lanna Culture in the traditional Ban Pong Huay Lan Village where you will have the opportunity to participate in local handicrafts such as rattan weaving, cotton weaving on 100 year old looms, embroidery and more.  Sample tasty treats with fun names such as "Cat Poop Dessert," a delicious coconut treat in named after its shape.  Try your hand at cooking a northern Thai feast with the women of the village. Enjoy a special treat sampling hand made locally grown chocolate at Skugga Chocolate farm.


Then transfer to the beautiful Mae Tang Valley to stay at the sustainable community of Mae Jo Baan Din.  Learn about sustainable building, experience local healthy cooking and spend a day at Sunshine for Elephants where you will have an intimate experience with gentle giants in the forest.

Itinerary

  • Day 1 - Pick up in Chiang ami, Rock climbing and rappelling at Crazy Horse, dinner and stay at Ban Pong
  • Day 2 - Breakfast in village, Vertical caving experience, hot springs, Skugga chocolate, dinner and stay at Ban Pong
  • Day 3 - Breakfast in village, AM handicraft activities in village with lunch in Ban Pong, transfer to Mae Jo Baan Din
  • Day 4 - Breakfast at Mae Jo Ban Din, Sunshine for elephants, dinner at Mae Jo Ban Din
  • Day 5 - Breakfast at Mae Jo Ban Din, AM cooking school and lunch at Mae Jo Ban Din, return to CNX by 3 or 4pm
