    What climbing experience do I need for this course? 

    • This course is designed for advanced climbers. All participants must have previous multi-pitch climbing experience and must be familiar with climbing knots and hitches, know how to use a GriGri, plaquette device, and prussic, and feel comfortable using climbing equipment.

  • Equipment for Self-Rescue

  • Ascending/Rappelling

  • Tandem Rappel

  • Counterbalance Rappel

  • Spider Systems

  • Base Managed Pick off

  • Knot Passing

  • Day 3

  • Morning: Multi-pitch Trojan Horse or Deep in Space

  • Afternoon: Mini Rescue Simulation, Additional Practice and Skill Refinement, Discussion of Ascending to a Fallen Lead Climber

  • *Note: Each day is expected to start at 8 a.m. and end by 5 p.m.
