Vertical Explorer Camp Summer 2024

Summary

Rock climbing is the core of many of our programs as it lends itself so well to facilitating personal growth and overcoming challenges. Get started on a lifetime of reaching new heights, and exploring new depths with our weeklong climbing and caving expedition.

Age: 8-12 years old | 13-18 years old

Time: July 15 - 19

Monday to Tuesday | 09:00 - 13:00 (includes lunch)

Wednesday to Friday | 09:00 - 17:00 (includes lunch)

Learning Outcomes

At our summer camp, children will have the opportunity to develop problem-solving skills and teamwork while overcoming fears through activities such as rock climbing and rappelling. They will learn basic skills like belaying, knot tying, and climbing technique, and gain an understanding of principles of cave surveying and geology to make informed decisions.

What is Included?

We provide all necessary equipment including climbing shoes, harness, ropes, chalk, and belay devices.

What should my child bring?

Children should bring a water bottle, personal outdoor equipment such as daypacks, and any necessary medications. Upon registration, a packing list will also be provided.

Day 3 - Cave Surveying and Geology | Small Rappel

Day 4 - Introduction to Outdoor Climbing | Big Rappel

Day 5 - Outdoor Rock Climbing | Tyrolean Traverse
